Tucked into South Shields, The Canny Chocolate Company runs hands-on chocolate making experiences from its working chocolate kitchen, with every session starting with a Belgian-recipe hot chocolate on arrival. The Signature Chocolate Making Experience - where participants make truffles, a chocolate bar, and hand-piped French-style mendiants from scratch, choosing their own inclusions and flavours - runs two hours and costs from £49.95. Shorter 90-minute sessions include the Family Chocolate Making Experience, which brings children and adults together to make a seasonal chocolate bar, lollipops, and buttons, and the Choc N' Chatter social, a guided daytime session pairing truffle and mendiant making with a tasting of fine couverture chocolate. The Birthday Chocolate Experience caters for kids and teens, while Private Chocolate Experiences are available for corporate groups and private celebrations, also at 120 minutes. Everything made across all sessions goes home with participants, packaged to take away.
